Raising our Vibrations

We live in a time of accelerated change and transformation.

Haven't you felt it? The shift..?

Chances are that if you are reading this.. It's because YOU are a part of it!

We are rising above the lower vibrations of darkness and dissolving illusions of separation.

We are being encouraged to spiritually evolve out of the current state of egoic third dimensional consciousness which is based in fear and separation, into a more enlightened state of fifth dimensional consciousness. This state resonates in the energy of oneness, unconditional love, compassion, and truth

So at this time, we as individuals and as a collective have a choice. We may choose to remain just as we are - refusing to grow and expand our current levels of being - or we can choose to actively participate in our souls' and society's transformational process.

We make these choices through our own free will. Nearly each new mOMent presents an opportunity to live in darkness, or to ascend into our higher vibrations of unity consciousness, compassion, love, peace, joy, harmony, spirit abundance, good health, and healing.

The divine plan is unfolding either way.

How deeply do we each desire to transform and transcend our current levels of being?

Are you willing to be part of the process to cleanse, release, and heal?

Our souls and spiritual Selves are urging us to shake off old distorted belief systems. It is time for us to step into our power! Into our light! The light of greater awareness! Seeking en-lighten-ment.

It's time for us to awaken and release everything that no longer serves our highest good

The energies you require are here to fully support you.. all of the time. The good and the bad events of this life are designed to help you remember who you are and why you are here.

Trust that each of us is divinely guided by a higher intelligence.

I hope you will join me and many others in this journey. Comment below if you feel that you are / want to be a part of this tribe. Let's connect soul family <3

Creating union to raise our vibrations as the conscious beings that we are.

raising vibrations

Meditation is the fastest way to raise our vibrations, get in touch with our feelings and emotions, and connect us more strongly to our God and God selves.

We as humans are multi-dimensional beings. We do not only exist on a physical plane; although our physical body is what many people identify with - it is not us. Our body is our home. The home of our soul - that is the real us. The us that lives energetically in and around the body. The us that we may not be able to see.. but we can feel.

To help us reach this deep realization and connect us with these parts of ourselves that are not visible to the eye - we need to make a connection with our energetic fields.

Oftentimes, we are fearful of truly connecting with our inner beings because we are afraid of what we might discover. Because of this, many people avoid taking the time for meditation, inner contemplation, and silence because this is where the aspects of ourselves that need to be healed appear most. Such as our inner beliefs, negative thought processes, fears, and emotions. However, this is a journey that is vital for us to embark on if we wish to clear energetic blocks and reach our best and highest selves.

The journey within.

This begins by stilling the commotion of our monkey minds and a great way to do so is through.. Yes, you guessed it - meditation

Prayer is also a very powerful way to set a strong intention and seek assistance. However, as with everything in life - this relationship must be an open channel of giving and receiving - which is why prayer with meditation is a divine balance and significant combination.

With time and practice, meditation quiets the mind, and penetrates the deeper aspects of our beings, enabling us to hear messages from our God selves and feel the subtle vibrations of our inner-gy (energy within) that we may be blocked from in our typical ways of operation.

Science has shown that meditation will also activate dormant areas of our brains, assisting us to tap into deeper levels of healing.

So meditation expands our consciousness, raises our vibrations, and helps us remember who we are.. but that is not even close to where it ends ;)

Some other benefits of meditation are:

  • Improves blood pressure
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Decreases muscle tension and headaches
  • Enhances the immune system allowing you to better protect yourself from illness
  • Increases serotonin for better moods which also helps improve symptoms of depression
  • Quiets the mind allowing us to relieve emotional distress that creates havoc in our lives
  • Opens us to receive clear, divine guidance, tapping into the deepest depths of our souls (Theta and Beta brainwaves)
  • Opens, clears, and aligns our chakras for a greater sense of health and well being
  • Balances and calms the nervous system
  • Meditation helps us see the bigger picture so we can stay calm and less reactive when we encounter difficult situations
  • Meditation assists people in overcoming addiction and repetitive negative behavioral patterns
  • Expands our hearts by boosting social connecting, improving empathy and compassion, generates helpfulness, and increases resilience through hard times
  • Meditation increases our wisdom and perspective

I could go on and on! But I think you get the point :)

So let's think about this now.. There are 1,440 minutes in a day. Consider all of the things you commit some of those minutes to. Watching TV, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.

Now consider dedicating 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes to receiving all of the benefits that we reviewed above. Visualize the improvements and transformations that would transpire in your life!

They recommend that those of us whom claim we don't have 10 minutes, should dedicate an hour. Because the excuse of "not having time" is another sign that we need Meditation in our lives that much more.

Have trouble sitting in silence? No problem!

Go for a walk without your phone or electronic devices, observe the world around you, become conscious of the sounds and scents that you may normally be tuned out from, sit between some trees, do some yoga or breathing exercises, lay in the grass, stare up at the majestic sky. The truth is, any activity that we allow ourSelf to become fully present in silence with, allowing our thoughts to pass us by like clouds in the sky, can be considered a meditation.

You are training your mind so you can be not only strong in body.. But strong in soul.

The truest YOU that exists.. Remember?

You can also try this practice below and consider including a mantra if you have one that resonates deeply with you. I'll be writing about mantra meditations soon to help with this.

Stay tuned.. And tuned within ;)

This meditation keeps you focused on the breath, which blocks distracting thoughts while allowing you to anchor yourSelf into a conscious breath of awareness. Let me know what you think if you try it :)

Meanings of the sacred OM

You may hear this sacred sound at the beginning and/or end of a Yoga class, or perhaps you have seen the symbol in spiritual related art. Either way, it is valuable to know and understand the significance behind the sound and symbol that has made its way around the world.. and is even said to be, "The sound of the Universe".

Made up (and resemblant) of 3 (sacred number in itself) syllables, OM is phonetically pronounced "aaahh", "oohhh", "mmm". The vibrational energy of the "mmm" is quite powerful if you allow it to be; it has the potential to be felt all throughout your body and being. But as easy as Om is to pronounce, it is not nearly as easy to define.

The syllables are said to represent the triangular forces of the Heavens, Earth, and the underworld. While Hindus view it as representation of Gods - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva (creator God, sustainer God, and destroyer God). In the realm of consciousness, Yoganand refers to OM as the waking, dreaming, and dreamless states, "To represent all of consciousness".

This is already sounding pretty significant is it not? And it goes even deeper...

The first references of OM come from the Upanishads, a collection of sacred texts written in India at some point between 800 BCE and 500 BCE. It is within the Upanishads that one may find fundamental teachings upon concepts of karma (action), samsara (reincarnation), moksha (nirvana), atman (soul), and so much more. The Upanishads are also a significant reference for souls exploring the depths of yoga and meditation as these doctrines are summits of thought on mankind and the Universe, designed to push human ideas to their very limit and beyond. They deliver us both spiritual vision and philosophical argument.

The Mandukya Upanishad is specifically devoted to Om, and it says, "Om is the imperishable word. Om is the Universe, and this is the exposition of Om. The past, the present, and the future, all that was all that is, and all that will ever be is Om. Likewise, all else that may exist beyond the bounds of time, that too is Om."

Because of this, Om is used as the mother of the bija (seed mantras) such as one of my favorites, "Om Shanti Shanti Shanti" which means - peace for all human kind, peace for all living and non-living beings, peace for the Universe, peace for each and every aspect of this entire cosmic manifestation.

Some even say that Om is among the sounds recorded in deep space.. Hmmm

Is OM ringing in anyone else's mind and heart yet?! Gush

The connections run even deeper. Om represents the union of mind, body, and spirit. In its essence of union, it can also connect us to the divine and to those who have chanted its vibration long before we even came into this worldly existence. "We chant it because yogis have for thousands of years. And when we chant it, we're connecting with those yogis in a ritual way, drawing upon the support of the practices they've been doing for a long, long time" Yoganand says. He reaffirms that Om creates a link, "It's a sound that validates oneness and harmony."

This unity can be felt and experienced in group settings which is why I truly appreciate a teacher who incorporates the chanting of 3 sacred Oms. We are guided to take a full deep breath, then inhale deeply through the nose, and as we exhale, we release "AUOOHMM" a pleasant vibration that travels throughout our mouth, down our spine, and can be absorbed through our ear drums by the sounds of those partaking around us. I even do this in group settings with friends for fun. We sit and connect hand by hand - right hand faced up to receive - left hand faced down to give. I feel it to be a special way to connect with the ones I love and with the Divine energies of life.

Give it a try! Let me know not what you think, but how you feel ;)

OM is where the heart is.

Namaste hOMies!
